When it comes to good barbecue, low and slow is definitely the way to go. This recipe features my simple and easy rub that you can make on the spot or save in a mason jar for later use. Pair these spicy ribs with a sweet style barbecue sauce for the ultimate flavor combo.

Dry Rub Ingredients

1 1/2 Tbs Chili Powder

2 Tbs Garlic Powder

1 Tbs Cayenne Pepper

2 Tsp Cumin

2 Tsp Lawry's Seasoned Salt

1 Tsp Cinnamon

(If you want to make this recipe a little sweeter, add 1/4 cup of brown sugar to the rub mixture)

Combine ingredients and rub liberally over ribs

You can even apply the rub in advance, wrap tightly in foil and let marinate overnight in the fridge.

We used this beauty to smoke our ribs. To flavor the meat we used Hickory wood chips in this electric COOKSHACK smoker. We soaked hickory chips in some water for about 15 minutes before putting them into the smoker.

That smoke though... what a beautiful sight.

lay those babies down on their bed of smoke. Cook ribs low and slow in a smoker set at 225 degrees for 6 hours. If you can't wait that long, just set the temperature higher for less time.

These ribs were so tender the bone came out clean! The smokey flavor from the hickory and the spice from the rub made them extra tasty!
