This iconic sandwich is so simple to make, it shouldn't be so satisfying. You can throw it together with pretty much anything you have lying around in the fridge. Here I added some broccoli sprouts and romaine lettuce.

INGREDIENTS

2 slices whole grain bread

organic broccoli sprouts

romaine lettuce

all natural sliced turkey breast (peppered)

homestyle bacon

mayo

salt

pepper

When turning your attention to the bacon use the oven! My new found love of cooking bacon on a sheet pan is borderline disgusting. Pre-heat your oven between 350 and 375 degrees. Cover a sheet pan with a layer or two of foil and arrange the strips so they lay flat and are evenly spaced. Place pan on bottom rack and cook for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Boom. Restaurant quality bacon.

Once the bread is toasted, apply mayo to both pieces to give this club a creamy base. Sometimes I add a little bit of fresh lemon and basil to my mayo mixture before spreading it onto my toast.... it's amazing paired with tomato. Stack your perfectly crisp bacon on the bottom slice to build a sturdy base. After adding the lettuce, I season the turkey with some salt and pepper and add that. Lastly, place the broccoli sprouts onto the top slice of toast so it sticks against the mayo as you put on the top slice.
